Go Code Colorado, a competition run by the Colorado Secretary of State’s office, challenges multidisciplinary teams of 2+ to turn public data into useful business insights, tools, or apps. Not just for coders, since 2014, hundreds of developers, designers, business and marketing professionals, analysts, entrepreneurs and other big thinkers have participated.

Go Code Colorado is hosting a FREE weekend-long hackathon simultaneously in five cities across the state April 13th-15th. They provide mentorship, fun, food, and drinks all weekend long. 10 finalist teams win $2,500 each and an invitation to attend an immersive Mentor Weekend in Boulder, ultimately presenting their product at a Final Competition Event June 7th where the top 3 teams win $15,000 each.

With about 50 teams annually, they are actively seeking participants now. Small businesses are welcome to join as a team.

The weekend breakdown:

  • Friday – team formation and data exploration
  • Saturday – development
  • Sunday – development and pitch

So if you are passionate about development and want to hang out with other like-minded individuals and of course the DeveloperX crew, then come out and show your support.

Learn more and register to participate in the hackathon for free at https://gocode.colorado.gov
